Description: Established in February 1977, the longest runway at Taitung has been reported 5,315 feet long. The Taitung Airport Office came into being July 1, 1981. In response to military needs it was moved to the current location in Feng-Nan on Oct. 31, 1981. Local tourism and the growth of the aviation industry since 1986 has resulted an expansion of the civil aviation building between 1990 and 1991.
